I am about 2.5 hours north of the Pittsburgh area, but am lending my support to this cause. Perhaps, if my ambition allows, I'll start a similar project here at Pitt-Bradford.
Fun fact I learned today, and helped to figure out: There are roughly 566,666 Kalashnikov rifles legally in private hands in the United States. It would be really neat if you guys could make this organization as exclusively Kalashnikov-oriented as possible. To try to combat the negative stigma associated with them. The numbers are certainly there, but the design is still demonized as a "terrorist gun" by the uneducated.

Glad to hear it: UPB should be a bit more supportive of the idea than main campus. For one, they'll let you keep your guns on campus.
I'm a Kalashnikov kind of person myself, and would love to see them get the respect they deserve. Despite it being born on the other side of the Iron Curtain, I feel like its rugged toughness and unwavering reliability are qualities than any American can stand behind.
